Welcome New Board Members
The Friends of Haystack Rock would like to welcome three new board members: Pam Bierly, Stacy Benefield, and Tracy Abel, which brings the board to eleven members.

Pam Bierly has a background in education and was a long time teacher. She operates the Seaside Discovery Program which has a presence in the Necanicum River Estuary, on the dock near the Convention Center and on the beach in front of the Seaside Aquarium, meeting hundreds of daily visitors at the Discovery Table.

Stacy Benefield has been a very active volunteer with the Haystack Rock Awareness Program since moving to Cannon Beach from Sundance, Utah.

Tracy Abel is a certified meeting professional who has been in the event and meeting planning business for over 12 years. Originally born in Portland, Oregon she moved to Washington State when she was nine. After receiving her BA from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA she moved to Seattle and worked for the American Heart Association as Regional Director. In 1997 she went to work for CSNW, a Seattle Event and Meeting planning company. In 2000 she started Abel Management, her own meeting planning business. Tracy and her husband Todd Rowley moved to Cannon Beach in 2007. Currently she is a board member with the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum, and serves as Vice-President on the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
